About Mission Teams

Once a year Capstone Ministries hosts a short-term missionary team from the USA.   

We believe that visiting teams should be trained and prepared for the experience in cross cultural ministry; therefore all visiting teams are trained by an organization called The Sending Place.  The Sending Place is located in Sacramento, California but can arrange to train a church team outside of California also.

Teams engage in activity that is identified by the ministry in advance and they prepare for their time during their training sessions.  Capstone also partners with the ELCK (Evangelical Lutheran Church in Kenya) in spiritual capacity building activities.  Teams in the past have conducted Sunday School Teacher training, led a conference of ELCK pastors on Biblical topics, sung with the ELCK choir, lead worship in the urban and rural churches, as well as participated in the activities of Capstone: leading street kids in song, worship, prayer, and giving their testimonies.  It is a powerful and life changing experience to be on a short term mission team.
